About the Role

As a Global Strategic Operations Senior Manager on the Uber Direct Strategic Operations team, you'll lead global initiatives that improve merchant operations and power growth at scale. This role is responsible for turning operational challenges into structured strategies, aligning stakeholders across regions and functions, and delivering solutions that scale globally while meeting local needs.

What the Candidate Will Do:

Global Strategic Operations Managers are responsible for:

  • Guiding product prioritization and adoption to ensure tech investments drive progress on our business strategy.
  • Implementing scalable global strategies by synthesizing regional efforts and aligning teams on unified frameworks that balance local needs with global priorities.
  • Leading special projects to solve emerging global challenges-owning everything from problem structuring and data analysis to strategy development, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional implementation.
  • Connecting market insights across regions to spot patterns, share learnings, and help local teams adopt and scale solutions more effectively.
  • Tracking and analyzing key operational KPIs to identify trends and root causes, and proactively recommend and implement solutions.

In this role, you will focus on Merchant Operations, including:

  • Onboarding: Improve self-serve and enterprise flows to reduce time-to-first-trip and eliminate friction.
  • Financial systems: Streamline how Uber gets paid by improving policies, products, and processes that drive strong on-time payment rates.
  • Refunds: Optimize end-to-end resolution workflows-policies, tooling, and support decisioning-to reduce cost while improving refund speed and accuracy.
  • Integration health: Ensure merchant integrations are reliable and optimized, reducing API errors and improving performance across cost and timeliness.
  • Merchant enablement: Build scalable education, documentation, and guidance to ensure merchants use the product effectively.
  • Merchant experience: Identify drivers of merchant sentiment and advocate for product and process improvements that increase NPS and retention.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in strategy, operations, or analytics within high-growth or matrixed environments.
  • Intermediate to advanced SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and other BI tools to gather data, prepare reports, and develop dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to drive ambiguous, cross-functional projects from design through global implementation with measurable impact.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to discover and surface insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across regions.
  • Experience with merchant ecosystems, pricing/billing systems, or CRMs is a plus.

For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $131,000 per year - USD $145,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
