Tellus Solutions, Inc is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Snowflake, modern ETL/ELT architectures, cloud data platforms, and AI-enabled data solutions. This individual will play a key role in designing and delivering enterprise data solutions that support digital transformation, advanced analytics, automation, and AI initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize enterprise data platforms using Snowflake and cloud-native technologies
  • Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using modern data integration tools and frameworks
  • Design data warehouses, data lakes, and dimensional data models that support enterprise reporting, analytics, AI, and Generative AI initiatives
  • Develop high-quality, reusable, and maintainable data engineering solutions following industry best practices
  • Integrate data from ERP, CRM, HCM, finance, operational, and third-party enterprise systems
  • Partner with AI and Data Science teams to prepare, engineer, and optimize datasets for machine learning and Generative AI use cases
  • Design and implement data governance, metadata management, master data management (MDM), data lineage, and data quality frameworks
  • Optimize Snowflake performance through warehouse sizing, clustering, workload management, query optimization, and cost management
  • Build secure and scalable data architectures while ensuring compliance with enterprise security, privacy, and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Participate in solution architecture reviews, technical design sessions, client workshops, and implementation planning
  • Support enterprise cloud migration and data modernization initiatives
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes for data engineering solutions
  • Monitor production environments, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, data flow documentation, and operational runbooks
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and best practices
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in AI, cloud computing, modern data platforms, and data engineering

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform development
  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Snowflake, including architecture, administration, security, performance tuning, and optimization
  • Extensive experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt, Matillion, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, or similar technologies
  • Advanced SQL programming and query optimization expertise
  • Strong Python programming experience for data engineering and automation
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, lakehouse architecture, and enterprise data architecture
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications, including ERP, HCM, CRM, and financial systems
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, event-driven architectures, streaming technologies, and modern integration patterns
  • Experience with Git, DevOps, CI/CD, Agile, and Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and executive stakeholders
  • Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
  • SnowPro Certification
  • Experience with Snowpark, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or other modern cloud data platforms
  • Experience supporting AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI implementations
  • Experience with data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or Microsoft Purview
  • Experience implementing enterprise-scale analytics, business intelligence, and reporting solutions
  • Prior consulting experience delivering technology transformation and cloud modernization initiatives
