The Business Development Manager will define and lead Squarespace's partnership strategy across AI ecosystem and scheduling partnerships, driving long-term business growth through strategic partnerships.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Squarespace's long-term AI ecosystem partnership strategy, shaping how the company participates in and influences emerging AI discovery, search, commerce, and agent ecosystems
  • Influence product direction, partnership strategy, and ecosystem priorities with senior leaders at leading AI and technology companies to advance Squarespace's strategic objectives
  • Act as the company's strategic advisor on AI ecosystem trends, emerging platform opportunities, and competitive developments, translating market insights into company-wide partnership and growth strategies
  • Drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Marketing, SEO, and Executive Leadership to establish and execute a cohesive AI discoverability and ecosystem strategy
  • Represent Squarespace in external meetings and industry forums with senior executives and product leaders from major technology and AI companies
  • Define and lead the long-term partnership vision and ecosystem strategy for Acuity Scheduling, identifying transformational opportunities that accelerate product adoption, customer value, and revenue growth
  • Develop and prioritize ecosystem expansion strategies that position Acuity as a market-leading platform within the scheduling, productivity, and service business technology landscape
  • Identify opportunities to integrate Acuity with emerging AI-native workflows, assistants, and agent platforms that enhance scheduling experiences and unlock new customer value
  • Influence product roadmap decisions through strategic partner insights, market intelligence, and ecosystem trends that drive long-term competitive advantage
  • Build and maintain active relationships with Acuity integration partners, proactively resolving business and technical issues and driving mutual value
  • Define and track KPIs for Acuity’s partner ecosystem, including activation rates, revenue attribution, and customer adoption metrics
  • Shape Squarespace's partnership strategy and investment priorities by identifying emerging market opportunities, evaluating ecosystem risks, and developing long-term growth recommendations for senior leadership
  • Lead complex, high-visibility initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders, aligning diverse interests to achieve strategic business outcomes
  • Represent Squarespace with executive-level stakeholders across strategic partners, industry forums, and key ecosystem relationships, serving as a trusted ambassador for the company
  • Develop business proposals, structure projections and KPIs, and negotiate commercial terms and contracts
  • Track and communicate partner metrics, industry trends, and the impact of partnerships on business goals
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners to launch new initiatives at scale
  • Maintain direct and active relationships with all partners, serving as an internal advocate and proactively resolving business and technical issues

Skills

  • 8+ years of professional experience in partnerships, business development, strategy, or product management
  • Experience developing and leading partnership strategies that influence product direction, market positioning, or long-term business growth across multiple functions
  • Demonstrated expertise in SaaS partnerships and product integrations, ideally across scheduling, booking, ecommerce, productivity, or platform ecosystems
  • Deep familiarity with AI ecosystems, including generative AI, AI-powered search, agentic workflows, and emerging platform technologies, with ability to translate market trends into strategic partnership opportunities
  • Proven ability to lead highly complex, ambiguous initiatives with significant business impact and executive-level visibility
  • Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders and build alignment across competing priorities
  • Strong product and technical intuition, with ability to assess integration feasibility and effectively partner with engineering and product teams
  • Excellent judgment and communication skills, with experience operating in fast-moving, high-stakes, cross-functional environments
  • Passion for emerging product ecosystems and technologies shaping how businesses grow, are discovered, and scale
