This is a rare blend of strategic leadership and hands-on technical execution. You'll set the architectural vision for Finance's technology stack, manage a small high-impact team, and roll up your sleeves to deliver systems engineering work yourself.<br><br>You'll sit at the intersection of Finance, Corporate Engineering, and Data, serving as the primary technical partner to Finance. If you're energized by translating business complexity into clean, scalable systems, and thrive when the line between "architect" and "engineer" is intentionally blurred, this role is for you.<br><br><strong>What You'll Do<br><br></strong><strong>Architecture & Strategy<br><br></strong><ul><li>Own the end-to-end technical architecture for Finance systems — ERP, close management, planning & consolidation, data pipelines, and adjacent tooling</li><li>Develop and maintain a Finance systems roadmap aligned to scale Reddit's growth, M&A activity, and evolving reporting requirements</li><li>Evaluate build vs. buy decisions, and serve as the technical voice in Finance technology investments</li><li>Establish and enforce architectural standards, integration patterns, and data governance practices across the Finance tech stack</li><li>Partner with Corporate Engineering, Data Engineering, and Security to ensure Finance systems are scalable, compliant, and well-integrated<br><br></li></ul><strong>Hands-On Systems Engineering<br><br></strong><ul><li>Own delivery of systems engineering work personally</li><li>Configure, integrate, and maintain Finance platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Workday, Coupa, Zip, Adaptive, or equivalents)</li><li>Design and build integrations between Finance systems and upstream/downstream data sources</li><li>Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation for Finance system issues</li><li>Support M&A activity including systems due diligence, gap analysis, and integration planning</li><li>Design and manage scalable data pipelines, leveraging tools like Workato and BigQuery to maintain a robust finance data warehouse<br><br></li></ul><strong>Stakeholder Partnership<br><br></strong><ul><li>Act as the primary technical liaison for Finance leadership translating business requirements into architectural decisions and communicating tradeoffs clearly</li><li>Partner with Finance to understand pain points and proactively surface system improvements</li><li>Bring a demand management mindset to intake: help Finance stakeholders articulate needs, size effort, and sequence work effectively<br><br></li></ul><strong>What We're Looking For<br><br></strong><ul><li>8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or a closely related technical discipline</li><li>Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Finance technology stacks: ERP, P2P, R2R, or similar</li><li>Familiarity with Reddit's existing Finance tech stack (NetSuite, Workato, Adaptive, Zip, Coupa, Ramp, Workday, Salesforce or comparable)</li><li>Hands-on proficiency with systems integration (APIs, ETL/ELT, iPaaS tools) and data modeling in a Finance context</li><li>Strong ability to operate across abstraction levels; comfortable in both executive architecture discussions and technical implementation details</li><li>Experience supporting M&A workstreams (due diligence, integration, cutover) is a strong plus</li><li>Familiarity with analytics engineering practices (Hex, Looker, or similar)</li><li>Excellent communication skills: you can explain a systems architecture to a CFO and a data engineer in the same afternoon</li><li>Experience building and managing data pipelines, including familiarity with iPaaS platforms like Workato and data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery<br><br></li></ul><strong>Bonus Points<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience at a high-growth public technology company</li><li>Background working with Corporate Engineering or shared services models</li><li>Exposure to SOX compliance considerations in systems design<br><br></li></ul><strong>Why This Role, Why Reddit<br><br></strong>Reddit's Finance organization is scaling rapidly through organic growth, internal investments, and increasing public company rigor.
