About Pinterest:

Millions of people around the world come to our platform to find creative ideas, dream about new possibilities and plan for memories that will last a lifetime. At Pinterest, we’re on a mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and that starts with the people behind the product.

Discover a career where you ignite innovation for millions, transform passion into growth opportunities, celebrate each other’s unique experiences and embrace the flexibility to do your best work. Creating a career you love? It’s Possible.

At Pinterest, AI isn't just a feature, it's a powerful partner that augments our creativity and amplifies our impact, and we’re looking for candidates who are excited to be a part of that. To get a complete picture of your experience and abilities, we’ll explore your foundational skills and how you collaborate with AI.

Through our interview process, what matters most is that you can always explain your approach, showing us not just what you know, but how you think. You can read more about our AI interview philosophy and how we use AI in our recruiting process here.

As Director, Mid-Market Marketing you will own the global B2B marketing strategy for our mid-market advertisers within our SMB audience, building scalable, data driven solutions that drive retention and revenue growth. You will also lead the development and execution of account-based marketing strategies for high-value Mid-Market accounts, ensuring tight alignment with Sales and XFN partners. In this role you will partner closely with cross-functional partners to align on priorities, ways of working and integrated marketing plans, while building and growing a high-performing Mid-Market Marketing team. This role requires a strategic leader and operator who can act as a player-coach: setting the long term vision and operating model for Mid-Market, managing resources and developing the capabilities of your team, while personally leading critical workstreams.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and grow the Mid-Market Marketing team by designing the right organization structure, hiring top talent, and investing in mentorship and professional development to help the team thrive.

  • Set the vision and marketing strategy for Mid-Market advertisers at Pinterest, in partnership with XFN teams.

  • Lead and execute key Mid-Market marketing workstreams, including building a foundational lifecycle engine (spanning email, in-product education, business site, etc) and other marketing experiments to drive retention and revenue growth, with the ability to extend successful programs to priority SMB segments where appropriate.

  • Design, launch, and scale account-based marketing programs for priority Mid-Market accounts, partnering closely with Sales, PMM, and Growth Marketing to align audience selection, messaging, and measurement.

  • Champion a test and learn mindset across the team, encouraging the team to run experiments, iterate quickly and scale what works.

  • Build tracking mechanisms that create an environment of accountability for the working team's progression. Integrate velocity within the function by mobilizing the organization, removing obstacles, and enabling teams to focus on achieving high-quality results for the most important initiatives.

  • Partner with and influence executive teams and senior stakeholders across Product, Engineering, PMM, Growth Marketing, and Sales to align on strategy, integrated plans, and ways of working.

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate efficiency, reduce production timelines, and free up bandwidth for higher-order strategic work.

  • Utilize AI-assisted analytics and reporting tools to surface insights on marketing performance, identify trends across campaigns and channels, and make faster, smarter decisions about where to invest resources. Build a team culture that treats AI as a core working partner in the planning and measurement process.

What we’re looking for:

  • 15+ years of experience in business marketing, with at least 10 years of experience specifically in Mid-Market or SMB Marketing.

  • Proven experience in building teams, capabilities and programs from the ground up, ideally at a similar or competitive platform to Pinterest.

  • Demonstrates mastery in changing or affecting the actions, behaviors, or perspectives of others without directly forcing those changes to happen.

  • Moves the function forward through a mature decision-making process by gathering and circulating data with key partners, weighing alternatives explicitly, and considering risks. Willingly makes tough decisions and difficult trade-offs on behalf of the business.

  • Navigates uncertain situations and provides direction and frameworks to the function that minimize delay. Effectively manages the stress that accompanies transitions and change and helps others adapt productively.

  • Sponsors and mentors people from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives. Fosters a culture that encourages and supports inclusion and belonging, and applies understanding of differences to create value for the function.

  • Demonstrated comfort and curiosity working with AI tools in a marketing context, with a proactive mindset toward exploring how emerging technologies can improve team output, campaign performance, and operational workflows. Ability to coach and inspire a team to embrace AI as a collaborative partner rather than a replacement, fostering a culture of continuous experimentation and innovation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience
