Job Summary

Progressive Technology is hiring entry-level Data Analysts who are passionate about turning raw data into actionable insights. This is a fresher-friendly role with a structured onboarding plan, mentorship, and hands-on project exposure. You will learn to collect, clean, analyze, visualize, and present data to help business teams make informed decisions across marketing, product, operations, and finance. If you are comfortable with numbers, curious by nature, and eager to grow in analytics, we want to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ingest, clean, and prepare large datasets from multiple sources (CSV, databases, APIs) for analysis.

  • Build dashboards and reports in Power BI/Tableau/Google Data Studio to track KPIs and business trends.

  • Write basic to intermediate SQL queries to extract and manipulate data.

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) using Excel and Python/R to discover patterns, anomalies, and opportunities.

  • Create clear visualizations and executive-ready presentations that tell a compelling data story.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Operations) to translate business questions into analytical problems.

  • Document data definitions, business logic, and analytical methodologies for reproducibility.

  • Support A/B tests, cohort analysis, and funnel analysis under guidance from senior analysts.

  • Adhere to data governance, privacy, and security best practices.

  • Continuously learn new tools, libraries, and analytical techniques through internal training and self-study.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Commerce, or related fields.

  • Strong foundation in Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, charts, basic formulas).

  • Working knowledge of SQL (SELECT, JOINs, GROUP BY, basic window functions preferred).

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language for data work: Python (pandas, NumPy) or R.

  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts: mean/median, correlation, hypothesis testing, distributions.

  • Basic experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) — academic or project exposure is acceptable.

  • Clear communication skills—ability to turn numbers into narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation discipline.

Experience

  • 0–2 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics internships/projects.

  • Final-year students or recent graduates with strong academic or project portfolios are encouraged to apply.

  • GitHub/portfolio/Kaggle projects, hackathons, or relevant certifications (e.g., Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Power BI) are a plus.

Working Hours

  • Standard business hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM IST, Monday to Friday.

  • Flexibility to support critical deliverables or stakeholder meetings when required.

  • Hybrid model: typically 2–3 days in-office per week (may vary by team/city).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge

  • Basics of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT workflows.

  • Introductory statistical modeling (regression, clustering) is a plus.

  • Understanding of business metrics such as CAC, LTV, churn, conversion rates, and revenue funnels (nice to have).

Skills

  • Data wrangling, visualization, and storytelling.

  • Requirement gathering and translating ambiguous business problems into structured analysis.

  • Version control (Git) familiarity is advantageous.
