We are seeking a Compliance & Safety Officer with strong expertise in regulatory compliance and marine safety standards to join our operational team. This role is critical in ensuring our maritime and logistics operations align with both local and international laws, including safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code) and national safety laws

  • Conduct safety inspections and audits of vessels, offshore facilities, and operations

  • Oversee risk assessments and incident investigations to identify and mitigate hazards

  • Develop and implement safety training programs and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

  • Monitor changes in laws, standards, and policies affecting marine operations

  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation for regulatory bodies and internal audits

  • Liaise with port authorities, classification societies, and external auditors during compliance checks

  • Lead or support emergency response planning and drills

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Marine Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field

  • In-depth knowledge of marine regulatory frameworks and health & safety standards

  • Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISM Lead Auditor, or similar are highly preferred

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in maritime safety, compliance, or HSE roles

  • Familiarity with vessel safety inspections, risk assessment methods, and accident investigation procedures

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with attention to detail

  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety management systems (SMS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with offshore platforms, shipping companies, or port operations

  • Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in marine contexts

  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-department coordination and crew engagement

  • Willingness to travel to ports, vessels, or offshore sites as needed

Work Environment & Conditions

  • Office-based, hybrid, or remote with periodic field visits depending on the role

  • May involve travel to international maritime locations, dockyards, or vessels
