Metro area. </p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> Competitive, commensurate with experience (Not specified in original ad, typically <strong>$110,000 - $160,000+</strong> for this specialization and location)</p><p> </p><p><span><strong>Position Objective</strong></span></p><p>We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled <strong>Audit Manager</strong> specializing in <strong>Affordable Housing</strong> to deliver exceptional audit and advisory services to our clients. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for managing all facets of audit engagements, identifying opportunities to add value, and building strong, trusted relationships with client governance teams.</p><p> </p><p><span><strong>Key Responsibilities & Expectations</strong></span></p><ul><li><strong>Engagement Leadership:</strong> Direct and manage all phases of the audit lifecycle, including detailed planning, documentation review, and presenting audit results and internal control recommendations to client governance.</li><li><strong>Technical Expertise:</strong> Apply deep working knowledge of <strong>GAAP, GAAS, Uniform Guidance, GAGAS, and HUD rules</strong> to all client engagements, ensuring the highest level of quality and compliance.</li><li><strong>Client Advisory:</strong> Serve as a strategic partner to clients, actively seeking to understand their business and culture to define problems, propose solutions, and identify ways to deliver added value beyond the core audit.</li><li><strong>Team Development:</strong> Lead, manage, and mentor audit staff, contributing to their professional growth and ensuring team performance meets established expectations.</li><li><strong>Practice Growth:</strong> Engage in business development and networking activities, utilizing excellent presentation and communication skills to strengthen the firm's market position.</li><li><strong>Project Management:</strong> Plan, organize, and control multiple engagements and resources simultaneously to meet objectives and strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><p> </p><p><span><strong>Qualifications & Requirements</strong></span></p><ul><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of <strong>5 years</strong> of audit experience in a public accounting firm, with a specific focus on <strong>Affordable Housing</strong> audits.</li><li><strong>Certification:</strong> An <strong>Active CPA license</strong> is required.</li><li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university.</li><li><strong>Technical Acumen:</strong> Applied working knowledge of all relevant U.S. accounting standards (GAAP, GAAS, Uniform Guidance, GAGAS, and HUD rules).</li><li><strong>Software Proficiency:</strong> Proficiency with the MS Office Suite. Familiarity with specific engagement software like ProSystem FX is a plus.</li><li><p><strong>Travel:</strong> Ability to travel locally within the Washington, D.C.
